it's very efficient, i had the 205w, the voice went to a community college on my 7200, the chick went to harvard, much faster turns ,easy viewing of upcoming streets, a much advanced search engine when looking for places or stores by name.
Also there is nothing additional on line. Very good unit. Only problem is the owners manual leave a LOT to desire.
This unit appears NOT to do any of the 3 -- so why is it advertised for Trucks. Weight, Height, Width, Truck Restrictions and Street names are very inportant to me and not something I need to find out when or after it's to late.I didn't see anything written about Scales. I have always been a Map Guy (Trucker's Atlas and others) but would really like to step into the 21st century one day and get a Garmin or like device for my many "over the road" trips to ALL THE COASTS and every where in-between with out haveing to take out a small loan. SUVs & Cars can go almost every-where, RVs are a bit more restricted but. I really never know what Truck or Bus I'm driving until I open the door and start my Pre-Trip -- each type/make tends to be different than the next. Well, beyond that it has a big screen and lots of extras like XM Radio & MP3, that's a nice touch. STREET NAMES.
I am a transport Driver (Transporter) and drive all sorts of different "NEW" trucks & Buses that are all different sizes, weights & Heights to delivery locations all over the US & Cannada -- to Include New York City & Chicago. lighter type plug in power access.
Trucks not so much, and they tend to be restricted on where they can go.So far what I'm reading isn't making me think that this unit is very friendly to Truck Drivers after all, in many ways. What Happens if I have no cig.
I have been reading the reviews of this item (advertised for Trucks) and it's mostly reviews from SUV & car drivers with a few RVs thrown in here & there -- NOT HELPFUL TO ME, A TRUCK DRIVER. Plus if I'm readying the reviews correctly, there is no Iternal Power source like a rechargable or replaceable Batteries.
I may have missed it, does it tell you where the scales are and if they are open or closed.I'd say this item should NOT be advertised for trucks -- think about it.Just Say'n. and cars, SUVs and some-times RVs can turn, make U-Turns or back out of or around an issue pretty easily.
But, Truck driver's need "in/on route" Information on not just Traffic BUT restricted routes (No Trucks allowed) Low or restricted Bridges (No Trucks) and last but (by all means) least.
Very please with the GPS and the service from amazon was OUTSTANDING. Was not charged for second one and they emailed when the dead one arrived back to them. Ray, Orlando, Florida Recieved as promised, but it was dead on arival. I called and a new one was shipped immediately and I had in a day with a free return voucher for the dead one.
I am sharing it with my brothers who are equally impressed and plan to purchase their own. I absolutely love the Garmin 7200. It is so easy to use ,especially with the remote control.
